I. Brief Introduction to Guilin Medical University
Guilin Medical University (GLMU) locates in the renowned international tourism city——Guilin, Guangxi, China. The university is an institution of higher education directly under the administration of Guangxi, China, one of the first batch of the institutions as the test sites for the Program of Educating and Training Outstanding Doctors conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China, and one of the excellent institutions for undergraduate teaching quality evaluation rated by the MOE.
GLMU was founded in 1935. After more than 90 years of development, the university has set up a complete training system of higher medical talents with bachelor, master, doctor and post-doctor, covering five disciplines of medicine, science, management, law and engineering.
GLMU consists of 3 campuses. It comprises 20 colleges, faculties and departments, 3 direct affiliated hospitals and 28 hospitals for clinical practice. It offers 27 bachelor’s programs, 5 master’s programs in first-level disciplines, 8 professional master’s programs, and 1 professional doctorate program. The postdoctoral research station for clinical medicine has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China. Its disciplines of clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology have been listed in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking.
At present, there are nearly 30,000 students, over 6,500 faculty, staff and medical personnel members, and more than 1,000 teachers are master supervisors and 89 teachers are doctoral supervisors.
In 1993, GLMU was listed by the Ministry of Education of China as one of the first batch of institutions to receive international students. In 2007, College of International Education was founded. So far, over 700 International students from 16 countries in Asia, Africa and Americas graduated from GLMU. The university has actively carried out friendly exchanges and cooperation with over 20 universities and institutions from countries and regions such as Australia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the United States, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Vietnam, Nepal etc.
II. Admission Requirements
1. Applicants nationality
ASEAN Countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
2. Besides, applicants should:
(1) hold a valid passport, under the age of 25, and be in good physical and mental health.
(2) be friendly to China, and abide by the laws and regulations of Chinese government and the University, and have no criminal record.
(3) hold a high school or equivalent diploma with good academic performance, pass all the courses without failure.
(4) not receive other scholarships from Chinese government at the same time.

Note:
1. Each major will be admitted preferentially according to the order of the table above.
2. All majors are taught in Chinese. Applicants who apply for the programs should pass HSK 4 or above. Otherwise, applicants should make up for their Chinese learning and pass HSK 4 before starting their undergraduate programs.
3. For Chinese learning period, the university gives admission priority to applicants with HSK 3 level or Chinese learning experience.
IV. Coverage and Criteria of the Scholarship
1. Covering registration fee, tuition fee and on-campus accommodation fee (charges for water and electricity are not included and will be paid by the students themselves).
2. Providing living expenses.
3. Providing comprehensive medical insurance.
V. Required Materials and Procedures & Deadline
1. Application Form of Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students filled in Chinese or English.
2. Scanning copy of passport.
3. Notarized high school certificate and transcript.
4. Study plan in China (no less than 200 words, written in Chinese or English).
5. Physical Examination Report with completed information
6. Non-criminal record certificate
7. HSK certificate (if any)
8. Digital Identification Photo in JPG format.

VI. Admission Procedures
College of International Education of GLMU will:
1.check up applicants’ application materials, and inform qualified applicants of the arrangement of entrance examination by email or phone.
2.select students according to their comprehensive performance in the examination and decide the proposed admission list.
3.submit the proposed applicants’ application materials to relevant provincial departments for approval.
4. inform the students to be admitted by email or phone, and mail the original admission materials.
